Sweden's Henrik Stenson shot a closing five-under 66 to capture the second PGA Tour playoff event, to take the lead in the play-offs standings from Tiger Woods.

Stenson, who won on the PGA tour for the fourth time in his career, finished at 22-under 262 to tie the tournament scoring record at the TPC Boston.

American Steve Stricker finished two shots back in second place.

Canada's Graham DeLaet shot 69 to finish alone in third and Sergio Garcia of Spain shot a 2-over 73 to tie for fourth with three Americans, Jordan Spieth (62), Matt Kuchar (66) and Kevin Stadler (68).

The 37-year-old Stenson, from Gothenburg, posted his first win on the PGA Tour since the 2009 Players Championship by rolling in six birdies in a Monday finish.

Stenson finally broke through with a victory after some runner-up performances this season. He finished second at The Open Championship and the World Golf Championships-Invitational followed by a third at the PGA Championship.

Jason Day was the top-placed Australian in a tie for 13th on 14-under after a final round of 2-under 69. He moves up to 12th in the playoff standings.

Marc Leishman finished tied for 16th on 13-under, after a final round 70. He is now 58th in the rankings.

Adam Scott, who came second to Tiger Woods in the first play-off event, finished tied for 53rd on 6-under after a closing round of 1-over 72.

He slips to third on the overall rankings behind Stenson and Woods.

Heavy rains all week led to low scores and plenty of delays, including two more on Tuesday (AEST).

Monday's (AEST) third round was completed in near darkness after a lengthy weather delay. Some players had started their third rounds, but the long stoppage forced officials to erase that play and have players go out in threesomes of split tees.

Woods stumbled to a 2-over 73 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 65th. It was his eighth above par score in 36 rounds in this tournament.

Third round leader Garcia has now won just three of the last 11 times in which he owned at least a share of the 54-hole lead.

Your best choice of TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood

TaylorMade has designed the new TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood. It is the latest and greatest from the makers of the No.1 drivers and woods from the most popular wood manufacturers in golf. This new set of Fairway Wood has been improved its technology as well as its looking. These woods feature an adjustment that lets the golfer alter how the sole contacts the ground, as well as the loft of the club. This provides golfer the ability to change the club will react easily and on the fly. These changes allow the golfer to maximize distance and control for their own golf swing. I would suggest taking this wood to the driving range for an afternoon of experimentation!

About its new technology, the R11 has adapted an adjustable sole that can adjust the face angle of the club, as well as the ability to adjust the launch angle, making it a truly adjustable fairway wood. The R11 Fairway Wood also was charactered by its new aerodynamic shape which can help golfer to get much faster speed and more distance off the tee. At the same time, R11 also used movable Weight Technology .This kind of technology allows for either draw-biased or neutral weighting, meanwhile the Flight Control Technology provides up to eight different settings to adjust the face angle, lie angle, and effective loft, resulting in up to 60 yards of side-to-side trajectory change, giving you consistent power and distance. It has a new deeper face and deeper center of gravity, which produces a more penetrating flight. The flat-white finish reduces glare and contrasts against the black face, resulting in easier alignment. These woods are available in five right-handed models and two left-handed models, along with two shaft options and several flexes.

About its looking, compared with the R11 Driver, its predecessor, the R11 Fairway Wood has a white crown and an adjustable sole which can adjust the face and launch angles of the club ever made.

However, when we compared the TaylorMade R11 with the TaylorMade R9 Fairway Wood, it is not difficult to find that there are some commons features between them. TaylorMade R11 takes adjustability to the extreme with the addition of an Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP). Let's look forward to it.

MWT TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood

The TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood brings new technology, innovation, and aesthetics to the proud line of TaylorMade clubs. The new R11 Fairway Wood features fully adjustable lie and loft, adjustable face angle and movable weight technology makes this the most adjustable driver in golf. A highly adjustable club like the R11 makes it easy to tune your fairway wood to your specific needs. You can shop online and search for cheap golf equipment for sale in many online shops of discounts and promotions to save some bucks on your R11 Fairways.

The TaylorMade R11 Fairway is built with more adjustability to offer more distance. Flight Control Technology (FCT) is mixed with an Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP) in the TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood, that combine to offer players up to 60 yards of side-to-side trajectory change and around 1000 RPM backspin change.

The new aerodynamic shape of the R11 Fairway promotes faster speed, whilst the deeper face creates a deeper centre of gravity for a more penetrating flight. The contact area on the sole of the R11 Fairway is 35% less than the R9 Fairway which creates less turf resistance at impact. The non-glare, white crown and black clubface have been designed to improved visual alignment.

An advanced sole design of the TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood reduces the amount of sole area that comes into contact with the turf by 35% compared to the R9 fairway wood. This reduces turf resistance for increased speed and helps to minimize clubhead twisting.

The Stainless Steel head of the R11 fairway wood features a 'Ghost' white crown and a contrasting black PVD face, making it much easier to 'see' the ball at address and aid alignment for extra confidence.

There are some markings around the edge of the crown that is a little distracting, but once you get used to it, it is a non factor at address. The paint scheme on the stock Blur shaft of the TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood was nice and matched well with the overall scheme of things. The R11 Fairway Wood adjustability options means the head can be set to perfectly suit your eye and shot preference.
