With this Taylormade R11 review I want to focus on explaining the unique features on the driver, and what they actually mean to your golf game. There are three major differences from last years R9 series; the white non-glare club head, Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP) technology and a smaller 440cc head, the shape of the driver of address is very pleasing to the eye. With the new ASP technology, TaylorMade has made another step towards a completely adjustable driver, which allows you to adjust the face angle independent of loft.
The TaylorMade R11 is the ultimate driver for adjustability. It may not have as many loft/ lie combinations as some of the other drivers out there, but it has more variables to adjust, including heel and toe weighting for a neutral, fade, or draw bias and an adjustable sole plate for the open, neutral, or closed look. TaylorMade claims 100 yards of left to right adjustability.
When you address the ball (watch the video or look at the photos) you'll notice how easy it is to tell at address if the clubface is open or closed. The black clubface also provides a lot of contrast making it super easy to aim the R11 at your intended target. To be honest, I thought aesthetically a white driver is cool, but not very practical and just some marketing gimmick to sell more golf clubs.
Sometimes it can be difficult to wade through Taylormade's sales message, but if you do, you'll find a pretty sweet driver on the other side.
This driver made a great first impression and will be one of the most demanded drivers of 2011. TaylorMade is positioning its self to have a great year with the release of the R11 driver. In addition, this taylormade r11 is a good choice for golfers to get a ideal distance. You can try out with it when you play with your friends, family or your golf partners.
