Taylormade Burner Fairway Woods-Attractive Clubs

Burner Steel Fairway Woods
Great forgiveness and a boost in getting the ball airborne on a long, high ball flight are the hallmarks of the Burner lineup of fairway woods.

The Burner Steel model has a large, classically shaped steel clubhead that TaylorMade claims has the highest moment of inertia (MOI) of any fairway wood on the market. TaylorMade says the MOI of the Burner Steel fairway wood is 30-percent higher than that of the company's r7 Steel fairway woods.

The Burner Steel fairway woods come with a light TaylorMade RE*AX graphite shaft and light grip to promote faster swing speed and faster ball speed for increased distance.

These woods come in 3-wood (15 degrees loft), 5-wood (18 degrees) and 7-wood (21 degrees) models. The MSRP is $235 per club with graphite shaft, or $210 with steel shaft. They will be available at retail beginning April 20, 2007.

Burner Ti Fairway Woods
The Burner Ti fairway woods feature a titanium head that is oversized for a fairway wood and what TaylorMade calls "bullet-shaped." The Burner Ti metals boast the highest MOI of any TaylorMade titanium fairwood woods.

The combination of high MOI and low, deep center of gravity also addresses forgiveness and ease of launch. Like the Burner Steel, the Burner Ti comes with light TaylorMade RE*AX graphite shaft and a light grip to help promote faster swing speeds.

The Burner Ti fairway wood will be available in 3-wood (15 degrees), 5-wood (18 degrees) and 7-wood (21 degrees) beginning June 15, 2007. The MSRP will be $350 per club with graphite shaft.

Burner TP Fairway Woods
The Burner TP fairway woods are designed more for the better players, carrying TaylorMade's "tour preferred" designation. The face of the Burner TP is deeper, the clubhead is pear-shaped, and the sole has a "compact footprint."

Burner TP fairway woods come with a SuperFast RE*AX TP 65-gram shaft with .335" tip, which combines a high kickpoint with low torque to promote a lower, penetrating trajectory and give more skilled players more control.

The Burner TP fairway wood models are Tour Spoon (13 degrees), Tour 3-wood (15 degrees) and Tour 5-wood (18 degrees). MSRP is $295 per club with graphite shaft or $240 with steel shaft. They will be available at retail beginning May 11, 2007.

Burner Rescue Hybrids
Forgiveness, higher launch angle and longer carry are the goals of the technology that goes into the Burner Rescue hybrids. These hybrids have a steel clubhead that is 7-percent larger than the TaylorMade Rescue Dual hybrid, and with a footprint that is 13-percent larger.

The larger clubhead allows for a higher MOI. A shallow clubface and low, far-back center of gravity contribute to the ease-of-use characteristics.
